I have worked as a Contract Ranger for many years and have assisted councils in areas such as animal management, impounding, releasing, enforcement, dangerous, menacing and restricted dogs, behavioral assessments and working with anxious, stressed and fearful animals prepping them for rescues, educating the community and working within the communities to provide best practice models and support for communities caring for their animals.

I have also worked as a Ranger/Compliance Officer investigating overgrowns, abandoned vehicles, illegal dumping, enforcing laws, conducting investigations and closing investigations, enforcing penalties, microchipping and organizing microchipping days and much more. I have also spent a great deal of time troubleshooting and putting plans in place to make the necessary changes to organisations needs and requirements.

I am also able to work alongside Local and State Government in Animal Management, Welfare and Education, supporting staff with policy’s, procedures, SOPs and any other requirements that may fit my abilities.

I have implemented Animal Management and Enrichment Programs in various pounds. I am very well versed in the NSW Companion Animals Act, POCTAA, NSW DPI Code of Practice for Breeding of Dogs and Cats and I keep up to date with the latest changes in Animal Welfare legislation and regulation requirements.

I have also worked alongside rescues, shelters and other trainers as well as advising and helping with complex behaviors in a variety of animals and mentoring trainers, rangers and animal assistants.

I was also the Area Co-Ordinator for a well known animal welfare agency for over 6 years as a volunteer and my area ran from Cobar up to the Qld borders and down to Running Stream and over the Merriwa and often helped clients out with microchipping, and desexing vouchers in my time.  Obviously I do not have the opportunity to do this now a I have retired from this sector but do have many skills and know of agencies that are able to help.

AGED CARE AND DISABILITIES SECTOR

I also work part time in the aged care and disabilities sector and am able to provide support to agencies who would like to help their support workers, nursing staff and other staff in ways to manage situations where animals may be involved when they are visiting a client in their own home.

In-home animal management very often gets forgotton until a staff member raises concerns and if we can get agencies on board before hand then this can be placed in the clients files as well as their risk management SOPS for both human and animal welfare needs.
